Don’t Jump, Fly!

“Don’t Jump, Fly!” The sculpture was created as an anti-suicide monument. The children in Ft. Greene, Brooklyn thought it was a flying figure. A larger than life size steel and epoxy resin sculpture was a site specific installation and part of Bridges, an outdoor sculpture exhibition to honor the Brooklyn Bridge.

The Statue was attached to The Prison Ship Martyrs Monument, a 149 ft high Doric column designed by renowned architect Stanford White. The monument marks the site of a crypt for more than 11,500 men and women, known as the prison ship martyrs, These brave patriots represented all thirteen colonies and at least thirteen different nationalities.
